Academy Code of Conduct

The Oahu Academy Code of Conduct is designed to promote a positive, respectful, and healthy sports environment for players, parents, coaches, and volunteers. All members of Oahu Academy are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct to ensure a supportive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

It is important that we are up-front and transparent with our expectations. As critical as it is that families and student-athletes find the best fit, it is critical for our organization that we surround ourselves with the best fit families also.

Players Code of Conduct

Every player at Oahu Academy is expected to:
1. Play fairly and demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
2. Show respect and courtesy to coaches, parents, officials, spectators, and opponents
3. Refrain from addressing or commenting on referees' decisions during or after the game.
4. Maintain emotional control, avoiding abusive language, taunting, or disrespectful behavior towards others.
5. Display sportsmanship at the conclusion of games, regardless of the outcome.
6. Commit to attending all team functions, including practices, games, and tournaments.
7. Communicate openly with coaches and teammates in case of conflicts.

Parents and Spectators Code of Conduct

Every parent and spectator at Oahu Academy is expected to:
1. Show respect and courtesy towards other parents, officials, coaches, and players.
2. Refrain from questioning officials' decisions in a loud or disrespectful manner.
3. Cheer for their child's team positively and avoid making negative remarks about the opposing team.
4. Control emotions and avoid hostile or humiliating actions, language, or gestures.
5. Demonstrate sportsmanship at the conclusion of games.
6. Refrain from questioning coaches and staff about playing time and positions.
7. Ensure their child attends team functions regularly.
8. Communicate openly with coaches and team members to resolve conflicts.
9. Parents and spectators should be aware that coaches may be affected by their behavior, and failure to adhere to these expectations may result in consequences, including membership revocation for their child.

Coaches Code of Conduct

Every coach at Oahu Academy is expected to:
1. Know and follow the official rules of soccer and the league.
2. Exhibit dignity, patience, and a positive attitude.
3. Take responsibility for the team's behavior and sportsmanship.
4. Address breaches of the Code of Conduct promptly.
5. Respect all players, coaches, parents, volunteers, and officials.
6. Teach players to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
7. Communicate clearly and often with players so expectations are known and understood.
